2023 Sussex Heritage Trust Awards Launched with new Cowan-sponsored Eco Award

Phill Mumford, Managing Director of Cowan Architects, was invited to the official launch of the 2023 Sussex Heritage Trust Awards today at Lancing College as a Category Sponsor. This year sees the introduction of the Eco Award which will recognise a project’s commitment to excellence in sustainability, biodiversity and energy efficiency.

The launch of the Awards was held in the magnificent Grade I listed Lancing College Chapel, Sussex and which continues to celebrate completion of the West Wing of this architectural masterpiece, 153 years after the foundation stone was laid. Indeed, it was the Ecclesiastical category award winner last year.

Phill Mumford said “Cowan Architects is sponsoring the new Eco Award as a reflection of its own passion and expertise in sustainability and support toward a Net Zero world. One of our key principles is to find creative, sustainable solutions to improve people’s lives and this award will allow us to honour this”.

During the launch, Jeremy Tomlinson from the Friends of Lancing College Chapel gave a talk on the history of the building.
