Vitality House is an existing 3-storey commercial building with Office and Warehouse accommodation.
It is the headquarters of a family run vitamin manufacturer and supplier on an industrial estate in East Grinstead.
The family approached us for some assistance in establishing their brief for refurbishing an office floor, utilising the 7400sq. ft. vacant 2nd floor of the building, whilst improving the roof integrity and replacing the ‘crittal’ ribbon windows.
Through several briefing meetings, we helped the client form a clear understanding of their accommodation requirements and quickly created a concept design that encompassed all aspects of the brief. Concentrating on Look and Feel images and using the 3D model, the client was able to visualise the scheme and understand the scale of spaces.
Following layout and finishes strategy sign-off we developed the fit-out design up to RIBA Stage 4. The client then chose to take the project forward with a preferred contractor and project managed the scheme on site themselves.
The resultant scheme makes a statement of both an exposed concrete beam ceiling and services and a refurbished solid parquet floor.
We employed a mix of perimeter cellular offices/meeting rooms and open plan desking and collaboration spaces, dividing the floor plate into clear working zones. Conscious of not blocking natural daylight, we utilised an internal glazed ‘crittal’ wall system, ensuring the visual connection between working zones and good natural lighting.
The management at G&G are very keen to convey how much they value their employees and wanted to provide spaces for staff welfare. The new gym and breakout/dining area go a long way to realise this and are well used and appreciated by all members of the team.
