Mattock Lane, Ealing
Mattock Lane is a Victorian (circa 1890) brick constructed dwelling that has undergone a full renovation and extension to create a fully accessible ground floor apartment for our wheelchair user client.
This project completely transformed the existing spaces, creating a comfortable and functional living environment by adding a single-storey rear extension and optimising the existing layout for accessibility through internal alterations.
A dedicated therapy room was also constructed at the end of the garden. Our architectural material palette was cleverly matched to the existing dwelling and included sensitively fenestrated windows to reflect earlier phases of the project.
Outdoor amenity space was curated to be fully accessible and provide a seamless transition with the new extension. Large sliding doors opening onto the garden, with level threshold access provided the union of the two spaces.
It was important to our client to be able spend as much time as possible in their outdoor space, increasing connectivity to the natural environment. The renovation, as a whole, created a fantastic, accessible and contemporary addition for our client.
