Rochester Community Healthy Living Centre is a healthcare refurbishment project delivering a new MRI diagnostic facility within the existing Healthy Living Centre for Medway NHS Foundation Trust.

The scheme transformed a former external courtyard and café area into a modern, purpose-designed imaging suite, creating a range of specialist clinical and support spaces including an MRI Exam Room, Control Room, Prep Room, changing facilities, offices and associated circulation areas. The design carefully integrated the new accommodation within the existing building, enhancing diagnostic capacity while maintaining the operational needs of the wider facility.

The project involved extensive refurbishment and reconfiguration works, alongside the installation of specialist building services and diagnostic infrastructure. New rooftop plant equipment was incorporated with acoustic screening to minimise impact on the surrounding environment and neighbouring occupiers.

Working closely with the contractor and consultant team, the project delivered a high-quality clinical environment that supports improved access to community diagnostic services and provides a modern, efficient facility for patients and healthcare professionals.
