About This Project

Healthcare Interiors

Working directly for Kier Group, Cowan Architects developed a refurbishment scheme for levels 11 and 12 of the Thomas Kemp Tower at The Royal Sussex Community Hospital in Brighton.

Our initial scope was to assist the Trust in developing their brief to alter an existing outpatient facility into a general ward with a mix of 3, 4, 6 and Single Bed Rooms.

We provided a full interior design service to include the development of a wayfinding and colour strategy and lead the 1:50 room loading consultation with the Trust. Within this, we also provided all the loaded drawings, C-sheets, ADB Room Data Sheets, working drawings and co-ordinated construction information.
