Sheppey Community Hospital is a refurbishment and reconfiguration project delivering a new Community Diagnostic Centre within the existing hospital, providing MRI and CT scanning facilities for the local community.

The scheme transformed an underutilised area of the hospital through the infill of an existing courtyard, creating a purpose-built scanner suite alongside new consulting rooms, clinical spaces, circulation areas and supporting accommodation. The project was carefully developed within a live healthcare environment, ensuring the new facilities integrated seamlessly with the existing hospital.

Significant structural works were undertaken to accommodate the specialist diagnostic equipment, including new foundations, reinforced floor construction and a new roof structure. Internally, the project delivered a complete clinical fit-out with new finishes, building services and healthcare-compliant facilities throughout.

A key focus of the project was enhancing access to diagnostic services within the Isle of Sheppey, helping to reduce travel requirements for patients and supporting earlier diagnosis and treatment. The completed development provides a modern, efficient and welcoming healthcare environment that will serve the local community for years to come.
