Works under way at Christ Church, Fairwarp

We are delighted to see the masonry repairs programme at Christ Church in Fairwarp, East Sussex under way and looking good.

The works include essential re-pointing of the Wealden Sandstone exterior of the church, including the tower, with a soft NHL2 lime mortar, removing any cementitious mortar and infilling eroded joints. The sunny days and warm weather has meant works have progressed quickly on the lower parts of the church with the scaffolding being erected for the tower.

In a time when the whole world has seemingly stopped, it was good to see the masons observing social distancing rules and making good progress.
