City of London Girls School enjoys Phase 1 of Cowan Architects Design

Cowan Architects provided the architectural services for the Phase 1 design to transform The City of London School for Girls tired science floor and ground floor administration area refurbishment which has officially been handed over to the client last week. This came after a tight construction programme during the Summer holidays and October half-term.

Set within the stunning grounds of the Barbican Estate in London, this listed building comes with many challenges in design and construction. Phase 1 involved the complete strip out and refit of half of the Science Classrooms including new ceilings, floors, service routes and FF&E, the remodelling of offices and the careful renovation of the original parquet floor in the Headmistress’ Office.

Cowan Architects will be completing the Phase 2 design over the next few months.
