CARE FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE

With the demand for elderly care only set to increase it is important that care provision, and indeed quality, keeps up. The arrival of the ‘baby boomers’ will emphasise the need to give choice to meet the demand for higher-end accommodation to match their lifestyles of the past 30 years.

We have been looking with care providers to address the ever changing demands and standards for many years and we pride ourselves on being able to find the right balance for our clients to meet their target audience, whether this be a CQC compliant 12sq.m bedroom or a 25sq.m+ premium bedroom for the higher end of the market.

We strive to keep at the forefront of care design such as the idea of the ‘wandering path’ to create secure external spaces which is particularly relevant for those who suffer with dementia. We are also incorporating the notion of reminiscence into the interior design, along with colour theory in relation to current thinking on dementia.

CARE FOR VULNERABLE PEOPLE

As a practice we have a specialism in working with vulnerable people, whether this is in their own home, a family environment or in a care environment. We have worked closely with Charites such as MCCH, QEF, FitzRoy and the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability to provide a range of supported living environments for residents with a range of complex learning and physical disabilities.

The idea of promoting independence through design whilst creating a safe and homely environment for resident to enjoy is key to our approach. We take pride in our work and gain huge satisfaction from seeing the positive impact that a well-designed living environment can have on a person’s quality of life.

TYPE OF SERVICE

As Architects we are often the first contact on a project when the idea of development is still at its earliest stage. In this scenario we would work closely with our clients to establish their aims and goals for a project and identify how best to achieve them, culminating in the Project Brief.

We can offer the full scope of architectural service from inception to completion and are well versed in assisting our clients through the process, whether it be their first development or the latest in a long line. We can assist in the appointment of other consultants and specialists as required and have a good network of ‘tried and tested’ consultants such as Structural Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, MEP Engineers and other who we can suggest for your project.

We also offer Design & Build services to Contractors to help coordinate and produce the technical design stage and deliver projects on site.
