For over a decade, Cowan Architects has been the main sponsor of the Riding for the Disabled’s South East Region which has proved to be an enduring and successful partnership because of shared synergies and inspirational teams.
In the South East, there are 35 RDA groups across Surrey, Sussex and Kent with over 2,000 riders of all ages. They come to enjoy the experience of riding, carriage driving, show jumping, dressage endurance and western style, with opportunities to learn a new skill, enter competitions or even take a holiday.
The Cowan team is fully committed to the wonderfully stimulating work of the RDA and can see why so many people benefit both physically and mentally from their developed relationship with riding and the horse.

Sepsis is a life threatening condition that arises when the body’s response to an infection injures its own tissues and organs. Sepsis leads to shock, multiple organ failure and death especially if not recognised early and treated promptly. It claims 44,000 lives a year in the UK alone and costs the NHS an estimated £2.5 billion.
Cowan Architects sponsors The UK Sepsis Trust, which was founded in 2012 by a world leader in Sepsis, NHS consultant Dr Ron Daniels. Since then the charity has expanded rapidly and continues to grow at a remarkable pace. The small executive body of full-time clinicians and nurses that lead the Trust’s operational centre work hand in hand with a network of volunteers. It aims to reach out and bring together those who have survived, been bereaved by or encountered sepsis in every imaginable circumstance.
