Crisis in Care Confidence featured in OT Magazine
OT Magazine has featured an article by Cowan Architects, Managing Director, Phillip Mumford on how the Crisis in Care Confidence is going to be affecting Occupational Therapists who will become the new frontline with others in adult care support services.
In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, there has been a great deal of discussion, both in the industry and the media, on the loss of confidence in care homes, Admissions have fallen dramatically (halved suggests The Telegraph) and an estimated 6,500 operations may have to close over the next 5 years according to Knight Frank. The article looks at some of the factors involved, the affects on OTs in the new frontline and some possible solutions for keeping people in their own home.
