Specialising in façade engineering and fire regulations for high‑rise buildings, Miguel has delivered a large number of façade remediation projects and has provided fire safety assessments to a range of organisations within the UK.

Miguel has over seven years’ experience working across the RIBA work stages, co‑ordinating with engineers, contractors and clients. He has the ability to lead projects and successfully deliver high‑quality solutions.

Prior to joining Cowan Architects in 2022, Miguel spent four and a half years at Axiom Architects in Lewes, where he developed expertise in façade engineering and fire safety regulations for high‑rise buildings. Miguel led and delivered over 15 façade remediation projects for organisations including Unite Students, Whitbread, Rushbond, Rockwell, McAleer & Rushe and Marriott. His services included fire safety assessments, BS 8414 fire‑testing packages, site investigations, detailed design and specifications for façade remediation, submission of statutory approvals and on‑site monitoring.

Miguel studied for his bachelor’s degree, Grado en Ciencia y Tecnología en Edificación, at the University of Seville (Universidad de Sevilla). He began his professional career in the UK at Macconvilles, where he developed his attention to construction detailing, material specification and BIM implementation.
