Sarah is a fully qualified MCIAT Architectural Technologist working in the United Kingdom. She has worked predominantly on domestic projects with a value of up to £1M and has also worked in the healthcare, developer residential, commercial, and ecclesiastical sectors. She has extensive experience in the provision of accessible accommodation.
Sarah joined Cowan Architects in 2013. Her appointment largely involved the management of adaptation projects from conception through to completion, working closely alongside the Claimant and their legal team. Over this time period, she gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in inclusive design, accessibility, sustainability and conservation.
Sarah has extensive experience delivering bespoke lifetime homes, each project varying in complexity from small extensions to complete remodeling, renovations and demolition to rebuild. To date, she has been responsible for the delivery of 35+ projects for private homeowners who have been affected by life-changing injuries or illnesses and who have increased accessibility needs. She considers this experience to be fundamental in supporting her role as an Accommodation Expert Witness.
Sarah is proficient in the provision of environments that are compliant with Building Regulations and adhere to DDA (Disability Discrimination Act) and Equality Act standards.
As a chartered member of the Institute of Architectural Technologists, Sarah practices in accordance with their codes of professional conduct and ensures continuing professional development through engagement with the most relevant CPD activities to her practice.
