Part 1 Architectural Assistant

Joining Cowan Architects in 2025 as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant, Shanon recently completed her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture at the University of the West of England in Bristol. She is keen to develop her professional experience within practice and contribute to the delivery of thoughtful, well-considered architectural design.

Shanon’s role at Cowan Architects focuses on supporting the design team across a range of projects having contributed to numerous concept and feasibility studies. This allows her to gain experience across multiple RIBA stages, assisting with design development, drawing production, and visual presentation work while learning from colleagues.

Through her academic studies and experience in practice, Shanon has developed a particular interest in adaptive reuse and community-focused architecture. Her work explores how existing buildings can be reimagined to support social value, and long-term sustainability, with a strong emphasis on engaging meaningfully with the communities they serve.
